Anyone ever feel like hating their current job? I do..I don't know why but lately I am beginning to feel that I am choosing a wrong career path..Or is it because I am experiencing a mid-life crisis? I don't know..I still have a few good years before I push 40..
For those who don't know me that well..I am an Engineer by qualification..I had my tertiary education at a Technical College (or better known as Sek. Men. Teknik), got my Diploma in Building from one of the local public institution and a degree in engineering from the U.K..wow..seems impressive huh..I must be really 'dig' this technical thingy since I've been learning it from my school days until now..Well, I hate it..That is why I feel that every school should have a guidance counselor who can identify a children's interest and guide them properly so that they can really take a carrier path of their liking..Time have changed..now jobs like fashion designer, chef, artist, singer etc which was fret upon previously have received high status now..they are making big bucks..i bet mawi's income for a month is equivalent to my 6 month salary..(nyonya mansor eat your heart out)..Look at how our education system decide things for us..(examples are taken during my time as a student) if you have good srp grades..you will be put into 'perdagangan' class..no matter if you agree, like or consented..then you aced your spm and you will be send to a science stream class..but what if the student does not want to be in a science class? do they have the freedom to choose? does anyone ever ask them what they really want..or being so young and naive, ever counselled them what kind of courses that more suited them? if i am not mistaken, high schools in the us of a have this kind of system..unfortunately we don't..and I end up hating my job!!
